The move

Life is hectic for us this year. We had to move from the building we lived for the last 4 years. It was bitter sweet for me, as that was the apartment where we lived when we met Catlina for the first time, that was her first home. Not that bitter though, as the living conditions were not the greatest (boy, do I appreciate now hot running water!)

We figured that moving with a kid is a little different than what we had to do until now. So we started packing early. 2 weeks before our move out date. So for two weeks we lived between boxes. This picture here was taken in the first day we started packing. The house still resembles a living space, but you can guess the disaster that will soon come.

The moving day found us all ready to leave behind the old house. Happy and silly, we pretended it was all a joke.

We were lucky to have many friends helping. We were done in half a day! Truth be told, I missed most of the "fun", I just had to watch Catalina not get hurt between the boxes. You can see here, there is no age limit in the helpers we got. Everybody participated!

While I was happy to see us moved to a new, better apartment, I have to admit there was nobody more ready to leave the old house behind than Catalina. She was elated with her new house. She kept on smiling and saying "casa noua, place" (a.k.a new house, like). She did enjoy her new room and the fact that finally, her toys were out of the boxes.

The new house came with some new very good habits. Let's hope they last more than a week!

The new house is nice and sunny. And clean, so we don't have to worry about cleaning it for Easter (big Romanian tradition). While most people is US celebrated Easter this weekend, we still have a week to go for the christian orthodox Easter. However, we did enjoy hunting for eggs, both at our church, and in a nearby park.

We ended the day on a very good note. Playing and laughing and playing some more. This is my kind of day!

I can say that I am ready for Easter now. Easter is by far my most favorite holiday. We have a whole week of nice services in church, I always just recharge my soul, my brain my whole me for a new year.  And it all ends with a beautiful midnight mass, that is full of light and happiness and...AMAZING food.
