Happy first birthday, sweet Ami!

It was that time of the year again, when my knees are a little softer, when my heart races when I think about my kids. It's that time when I cry over nothing, being so incredibly happy to be lucky, to have so much. Amazing how much my kids' birthdays affect me, how happy and scared they make me. How come I am so lucky? Am I dreaming?

Ami is the kind of girl who doesn't let me dream and wonder too much. She asks for my love, for my attention. She's absolutely amazing! Such a surprise, so unique. From the sand like hair and blue eyes, to her effervescent personality and endless energy. There is such much wonder and admiration in me for this girl!

June 1st, her true birthday we had a nice dinner with bunica Milica and her nanny. It was sweet and quiet and everything I hoped for. She was happy, she got so many cute dresses and presents! June 1st is also international kids' day and Catalina was cheated somehow of her part of the holiday. From now on, we might need to change the kids' day for June 2nd :).

And this picture below shows exactly my baby girl! Ready to take on the world, no adventure istoo scary, no cake is too big! Happy birthday, my dearest Ami!

June 1st being a Thursday, we set the party for Saturday. Ami wore one of the many dresses she got and gathered a lot of compliments. I have to say, it never gets boring to hear compliments about your girls.

We did not have a lot of guests. Our neighbors, Ami's God parents and Dana and Gabi. It was a perfect crowd.

 Ami is one friendly girl. She does not get intimidated by older kids, she always wants to be in the middle of the action. And especially for her birthday!

Catalina was her sweet self. Always so gentle, so dreamy, so incredibly beautiful. I don't know how I was able to put so much finesse and elegance in this girl. So proud she is mine!

 We then had a game of pin the "x' on a poster. Ami had her turn, but since she had no idea what is happening she just ran away with the sticker. The other kids took it seriously and even tried to cheat 😜. Definitely not Catalina, I was truly impressed by her integrity.

 And then it was time for the pinata. I thought these kids are too old for candy and beating a box with a stick. It seems you can't be too old for this. Everybody had fun. They all took turns and they all had a lot of fun.

We cut the cake early as Alex, Dana and Gabi had to go camping. Ami loved the attention. She smiled and enjoyed the happy birthday song :)

As tradition goes, The God father has to cut the baby's hair for the first time on her birthday. So he did just that. Another tradition says that a tray with various objects is put in front of the baby and whatever she chooses from the tray is indicative of her future career.

My baby girl wanted the thermometer, keys and money. So, what's she going to be? Doctor, truck driver, or Wall Street magnat? We don't know but whatever she chooses I'll be there to support her every step of her way.

We had a nice party. People ate good food and drank good wine. Ami got lots of presents. Catalina smiled. Mommy had her heart full. So much to look forward to with these amazing girls! 💕🌼🌞❤️
