Happy 9th birthday, awesome Catalina!

I remember the day Catalina was born like it was yesterday. The happiness, that chocking sensation that I'm too happy to last, that unbelievably perfect face, with tiny tiny fingers. She had a little red dot on her middle finger all throughout her first 6 months of life. She had thin lines from a possible angioma under her tiny nose. All those cute little particularities are gone now. Her skin is perfect. She has the sexiest beauty mark on her left cheek. She still had the deepest, most gorgeous eye you'll ever see. And she is still mine!

Catalina turned 9 in a blink. She did not want a party. Again. She did not want friends over. Again. She wanted just the four of us. Again. With Amelia around, a lot of her sparks and special events had to be split. We went to Legoland 40 min away. She showed us things she's seen before with her school. She is so happy to share her life with us!

Catalina does not seem to grow as a happy child, and this breaks my heart. She cries often, and does not know how to be happy again. Maybe she's just growing, she has the tiniest, cutest little boobies. She is still such a baby to me, that we took her to the doctor. She perfect, just not a laugh out loud girl. And I so want her to be healthy and happy!

Mommy, I found a worm!

Once in a while, I have time to listen and see my girls. We went outside on a cold day, to try Amelia's biking skills. She's awesome! pedals and rides the bike like a pro; or at least like most kids, but since Catalina was always scared of ANY kind of speed, we expected no kid of ours will ever ride a bike. Wrong. Ami loves it and it's good at it!

When biking became boring, Catalina got Ami's attention with a worm half dry, half moving. Hard to explain the excitement over such a peculiar creature, but Amelia exclaimed several times " Mommy, I found a worm". Catalina found, she was the one handling it, she was the one suggesting to look for more. But who care when all are having fun?

My two girls are playing together more, they interact better, fight better (Ha!) and they melt my insides. I still have very short time with them at home, but what happiness they bring to me!

We're getting ready to celebrate the day my old life ended, to continue with the best life anyone can have, the day I got my Catalina. That day my life made sense again. It won't be until Amelia's birth that I completed the sun that shines within me, but Catalina brought the light. And what a light!!!

Christmas, New year and other 2019 adventures

There is a lot of catching up to do, always late for a blog entry (or a hundred), always late for a school event, always late for just enjoying day to day life. But life goes on, fast!!!

Christmas preparations were like always full of anticipation. Old traditions, old friends, new traditions, new friends. My girls make all events magic! ,

Christmas was quiet, relaxing, full of all the magic we learnt to expect. Presents, sleeping in, adorable girls filling the house and my heart with happiness.

For New Year we left to Niagara Falls. A long expected vacation, a runaway from the daily rush and chaos. Great hotel room with a fireplace, beautiful views of both falls. A water park in the hotel, an arcade in the hotel. Decent food (could have been better). A nice gift shop. But most of all, my two amazing girls happy to have their mommy with them. 2019 came with hope, so much hope! For what, maybe that things change on the job front, but most importantly, that things don't change on the heart side. I can't imagine what else I'd want for my heart, I have the two most impressive, most loving, smartest and bestest of the best girls. I'd like to hold time a bit so I can enjoy them more, but it's. not fair to them. they need to grow, to shine, to see New Year after New Year.

So knowing all this, Happy New Year, 2019! Not much more I can want 💕
