Overflowing energy!

What a year we had since Ami was born! What a year! We have a little ball of fire with amazing blue eyes and curly hair like the sun. Ami exudes energy from every cell in her body! She wants to make everyone laugh, to climb every single piece of furniture and be the center of attention! She collects compliments and enjoys them dearly. She dresses herself up in Catalina's clothes and then comes to us so we can admire her. Whatever happens in the house she needs to do on her own. Whatever we eat, she needs to try too. She's doing something ALL. THE. TIME! She's our constant entertainer, she brings so much laughter and joy in our house! Curious like no other kid, athletic way beyond her years, she's as amazing as amazing gets!

Ami started talking more and more lately. She tells us now that the dog goes "uuu uuu", the cat goes "mau mau" and the cow goes "mmmm". She wants so badly to communicate with us, but she has no time to waste in learning how to articulate words. She learned how to give kisses and shares them economically.

Sassy, and funny, and full of laughter.  And so, so much loved!! ❤️😘💕

My baby girl Catalina

My little baby girl Catalina is a lady. She falls in love (she keeps telling me I don't understand second grade love), she has squabbles with her friends and she complains nobody likes her. She is very smart and does wonderfully academically. Her shyness disappears gradually. All in all, she's a wonderful 7 year old girl.

Amelia is still trying to monopolize all our attention and gets jealous when I show affection to Catalina. That's ok, as my big baby girl is full of love for her baby sister and rarely gets upset. There is so much sweetness in Catalina's heart, it melts me.

One on one time with her is difficult with our schedules, but when it happens it's outstanding! She had a dr visit downtown, and instead of taking her late to school I made her skip the whole day! We turned it into an amazing date in the city! Coffee at Starbucks, walk in the park to pick chestnuts, light shopping, make up session, bookstore reading, and sushi of course! We had it all ❤️.

In my childhood dreams I dared to hope I'll have a daughter and that I'll name her Catalina. I never dreamt however I'll have one so amazingly perfect, one that likes all my likes, one that is better than any parent ever dares to hope. And here I am, having it all!

Halloween, 2017

Years back when I first came to US I could not understand all the fuss about Halloween. To me, there were a bunch of crazy teenagers dressed in black having loud fun that was probably nor parent-aproved. But again, I was living in the city where kids were scarce and true suburban Halloween was seen just in movies.
Few years forward, living in a suburb with 2 kids, I absolutely LOVE Halloween. What's not to like? Kids dressed in cute dresses, funny costumes, people giving out candy and compliments. The moment Catalina learned how to walk, Halloween became a much anticipated holiday. Along with farm visits, hay rides and colorful leaves it creates an incredibly good image to fall!

We visited a farm to pick up our own apples and of course, the pumpkin!

We needed also some tools for our Halloween party. That is right, we had a Halloween party. Not one with costumes, but decorations and lots of crafts nonetheless! Amelia loved painting and got really dirty (with acrylic paints that turned out to destroy some of the clothes...). But she was so, so happy! Catalina loved her party and declared us "fun parents". Success all around!

Amelia's daycare has its own Halloween celebration. Lots of. rafts and happy kids. Amelia was a little nervous playing in the yard, she kept on checking to make sure we're not leaving her there.

One more fun Halloween activity: Build your own scarecrow at Catalina's school. This year Edu's scarecrow was Old McDonalds and his farm!

A farm visit dressed in costumes turned out to be a very good photo op!

We were all happy that day, the same for Halloween! Mornings with school parades and so many cute kids!

Lots and lots of candy in the evening!! Amelia was definitely excited. She likes to sleep early, so by 7:30 she was exhausted. But she still held on to her bucket and walked alongside Catalina to get her candy. Under no circumstances did she let us carry her candy. Catalina is probably the most indulging sister, as when we told her that Ami is too tired and she needs to go home, there was absolutely no complain.

Happy Fall and Happy Halloween!
