Summer, we are ready!

Bunica Milica visited us for few weeks when school ended. Yes, Catalina finished 3rd grade. She was sad to go for her first summer camp, I was happy she has few weeks of sleeping in late, spending time at home, doing nothing but whatever she pleases.

How did the summer begin? Well, home with bunica, going to the pool, circling the neighborhood, doing nothing much but enjoying the warm, sunny days.

We went to see Cirque du soleil with bunica. It was lovely, and everybody loved it!

A great start for the summer. Camping coming soon in the schedule, and after that an European trip!
Lots to look forward to, we are blessed :).

Beach, s’mores and 4th of July!

This year, 2019, 4th of July gave us an extended long weekend! Thursday and Friday off, amazing opportunity for a long camping trip. For the first time, we went on our own, no friends to have fun with, but also no friends to take away from our time with our awesome girls. We started 4th of July like we always do, watching the parade in our neighborhood. Knowing a fun camping trip is about to come, we were a little less patient than in previous years. It also didn’t help that Catalina’s and Amelia’s former daycare did not walk in the parade anymore.

After the parade we packed up the car and started our adventure camping. Putting up the tent never seemed easier. The girls were excited about s’mores , mommy was excited about everything. We had fun that first night. Good food smelling like smoke, a nice tent just for ourselves, the quiet nurturing of our family.

Next day we were excited to see the beach. It was so peculiar... foggy like a scary movie, but the ocean can never loose the kiddish fascination

Running on the beach is exhausting....

We enjoyed one more pleasant evening by the fire, knowing a new day at the beach was awaiting. Next day, Better sky, the same happiness of being on the beach. We found 2 crabs that we adopted for the evening.

Of course, this meant we had to have another trip to the beach to return them to their home. Daddy was a grinch and did not want to join us. But the girls were brave and enjoyed few more minutes on the beach. Thunder took us fast back to the tent. The night came to mommy’s delight with a true summer storm: heavy rain, thunder. A pale light in the tent, 2 gorgeous girls who slept early, mommy reading a nice, easy book. Perfection!!

We headed back the  next day, but we felt refreshed. Or at least mommy had her batteries charged. Till next year, good bye tent and hammock!

So, so proud!

End of 3rd grade. Can barely believe that Catalina is in school, but ending 3rd grade??? Impossible 😳. The journey goes fast, but it’s filled with great achievements. This year Catalina learnt to play the cello, and she was part of the school concert. Delicate and elegant, I could barely contain my grin throughout the evening.

Of course, no event can take place without Ami's extraordinary presence and energy. She was herself so proud of her sister, and listened so patiently for her to finish the songs. When Catalina was back in the room with us she could not care less about the other kids still playing, so we had to leave :)

And then, just when we were getting ready to start the vacation, Catalina surprised us again. She received even more awards!!! We were invited (in secret, she did not know she'll receive the awards!) to the school for the awards ceremony. So much smile inside my soul!!!!
