So, to fast forward through some of the important and truly awesome events in our family life.
Easter
Beautiful as always, Catalina fared quite well through the midnight church service. We ate well, Marius made amazing cozonac. The light was there, in our heart.
Mother's Day.
I did not expect or wish much for Mother's Day. I was however rewarded with one of those memories that just sticks to your brain. We hanged around the house until the evening when we all went to an indian restaurant. It was a beautiful day, sunny, not too cold and not too hot. Catalina and I had matching nails and dyed hair. The food was good. But that perfect moment came at the end of the dinner when I was given a small rose from the waiter. Catalina took it and started dancing on the restaurant's small terrace. Imagine this: a gorgeous little girl in a white dress, dancing on romantic piano music with a rose in her hand. I was too mesmerized to take any picture. But even as I write now, that picture is so clear in my mind, that I need no refresher.
And then, it was summer! And most mornings Catalina greats me with: "Look mommy, it's a beautiful sunny day!" And indeed, every morning I wake up next to her is a beautiful one. After 10 year in Philadelphia, we finally visited the zoo. Many interesting animals, but the crowds and the difficult parking spoiled it for me. Catalina loved it! We rode a horse, she petted the goats and was a good sport even when very tired.
Plenty of fun around our little house too. Sprinklers are the cheapest way for day long fun!
Princess all year round
And look who can finally hold and lead the balance bike! She is getting pretty good at it, she doesn't go too fast, but she can balance it herself for 30-40 feet!!
No, we are not having fun only on the sunny days. Rain or shine, we laugh and play!
Sometime in the middle of all the fun, Catalina had her spring concert at day care. She is as shy as shy gets, she kept rehearsing her song and at the end of it she kept telling us that she will NOT sing during the concert. The morning of the concert she told me again: I will not sing. So I was happy to just see my favorite and by far the cutest grasshopper on the stage!
We found a farm that has beautiful sweet cherries. Catalina loved picking them, learned how to take the stone out.
And just this past weekend we went to visit some friends. It was Fathher's Day and Catalina was not in her best mood (or behavior for that matter). We did have an extraordinary pre-father day celebration in an amusement park.
And here we are, all ready for more summer fun.
