Exotic Thanksgiving

Last year, with Ami being so little we missed traveling quite a bit. Not that she is so much bigger, or that our eventful Europe trip told us traveling with a curious baby is easy...but we longed to travel so badly, that we planned a week long trip to Punta Cana. Since we did not have many vacation days to spare, we used the Thanksgiving weekend to quench our thirst for vacation!

On Saturday, with a suitcase full of shorts and swimsuits we boarded the airplane to sunshine! 4 hours later, with Ami mostly sleeping!!! we got to the airport, the van and to a beautiful resort!

Balcony with a jacuzzi! lots of fun until it became a safety hazard...

 Love is in the air...

Lots and lots of picture opportunities ! The girls were happy so they cooperated :)

Our plans for the trip included going to the beach, sleeping, eating and repeat. All those things turned out to be a little more complex than that. The resort was very big, so leaving the room meant we had to have everything with us, to make sure we don't go back. We also did not take a stroller so we spent some time finding where we can rent one. But the beach was amazing. The pools were amazing. We had lots and lots of fun!

I even had a night date with Catalina. The resort had a theatre and every night there was kids program followed by some adult show. Catalina and I had margaritas, did some window shopping and enjoyed a little Las Vegas shows. Nothing outstanding, but every time I spend time with my little lady my heart gets a little lighter, life gets a little sunnier.

We were thirsty for adventure, so we booked a half day excursion to a monkey "farm" and a cocoa/coffee farm. The ride was extremely bumpy and uncomfortable, but the experience was nice. The monkeys were lovely and the coffee delicious!

For the rest of the trip we slept, ate, went to the beach and back to the sleeping again. Between mosquito bites, little medical emergencies and falling fixtures in the room we managed to get a little rest too. The place resembled paradise, so all inconveniences were fixed the second we stepped on the beach. Amelia fell in love with one baby doll with a pacifier and she was so excited to get one!

The vacation was nice, but similar to our Europe vacation was accompanied by sick kids. Fever of 104.5 for Catalina, return home and Ami got double ear infection and moth/foot disease. Lots of crying and sleepless nights for everyone.

For now, we are focused on being healthy at home. Plus, Christmas in coming...❤️.
