On our way to 2017

We had American holidays this year. Beautiful, nevertheless.
Christmas came with its glitter and happiness, but being the first one we celebrated as a family of four  in our house, we weren't really sure what to do to celebrate. The regular Christmas pictures came with even more fuss and tears and blurry shots. But scanning through them I see the story of our family as it is: not perfect, but so, so lovely.

Kindness and excitement!

Taking a picture with 2 kids and a husband who is camera shy is very stressful :))

If the camera is on, let's take even more pics of this cutie!

So we played The Christmas schedule as it came. We went to Peddler's Village and shopped for a beautiful coo-koo clock. The decorations do not disappoint, ever, but we were tired, and we remembered that traveling with a baby is not easy...

And then it was time for Christmas. We decided we will not leave our home for Christmas, so we created a cute, warm atmosphere as well as we could. Marius was sure Catalina will still get a kick out of seeing Santa in flesh, so we had a friend wearing a Santa costume to bring the presents. Catalina was not easy to fool, and she told us that so sure that was not the real Santa, as she saw brown hair at the back. So, she left cookies and milk for the real Santa...Good thing the presents were plentiful for both fake and "real" Santas to bring :)

The house was filled with presents from all parts of the world, the kids were happy. It was a wonderful holiday, our first Christmas in our own home, making our own traditions, being happy as a family of four.

I took off between Christmas and New Year's so I had plenty of time to enjoy my two girls. The year ended quietly, peacefully and we were happy to welcome a new year. A year when we'll celebrate Amy's first birthday, a year when we'll create new memories with a first grader. We had champagne and we stayed up to see the ball drop. Then we went to have a warm, cozy sleep and woke up a whole year older!

Happy New Year 2017! Be kind to us, keep us healthy and we'll do the rest!
